Description, Habitat, Ecology, Distribution

The giant Pacific chiton is the largest chiton in the world, up to several times larger than the black Katy chiton. It also differs from the black Katy chiton in that its shell is completely covered by its reddish-brown girdle. This chiton is also edible after being boiled for a short time. It is locally known as “China slipper” and also as “gumboot chiton”.
