There are several species of saltwater and freshwater fishes known locally as “bullheads”, skwun’ehw refers to the largest of the saltwater bullheads, the great sculpin. skwun’ehw can be used to refer to both sea and fresh water bullheads. smut-hw ~ shmut-hw is said to be the name for small “freshwater bullheads” or “river bullheads”, but may also be considered by some speakers to refer to small saltwater bullheads. Children would fish for these tiny bullheads for fun.
